VANCOUVER, BC, May 22, 2007 - Evolution Technologies Inc. (“Evolution”) is pleased to announce it has recently launched a series of clinical assessment seminars held across Canada. The aim of these seminars is to provide Canadian Occupational and Physiotherapists with ongoing professional development in the area of rollator walker prescription and usage. Educational speaker Sheila Buck, B.Sc.(OT), Reg. (Ont.) is presenting the seminar, Critical pathways to Walker Prescription and Assessment.

The response to the first workshops held over the past few months has been overwhelmingly positive.A unique concept, the idea for these seminars arose from current market trends. The growing mobility equipment market has lead to a rush of diverse new design concepts and manufactures, often leading to the inappropriate prescription of equipment. Sheila demonstrates the assessment, functionality and suitability of various styles of walkers, incorporating educational elements such as case studies in a hands-on workshop utilizing the Evolution Walker brand to demonstrate critical points.

The seminars began in April in Mississauga and Oshawa, Ontario. In May and June they will continue through Ontario, and in late June will finish off in Alberta and British Columbia.

Who is Sheila Buck B.Sc.(OT), Reg. (Ont.)?

Sheila is an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years experience in the seating and mobility field. She began her career as a therapist in a small community hospital before moving on to community practice. A series of opportunities allowed Sheila to establish a long-term care program at a large hospital, where a majority of her work included providing clients with safe and functional seating and mobility systems.

During this time, Sheila worked closely with the local mobility dealers, leading to a position as a dealer representative, where Sheila recognized the need for quality educational programs for people in the therapy field. She therefore took the next step and opened her own consulting business, Therapy Now!, where she provides consulting on seating and mobility assessments with emphasis on clinical applications.

Sheila has conducted seminars and workshops at National and International conferences, and since 1997 has provided her own continuing educational program for professionals interested in practical seating and mobility assessments and prescription of product.
